During Holy Week 2010, a Secular Franciscan (Third Order Franciscan) named Nicholas H. Kovacs from the St. Thomas More Fraternity in Houston, Texas, was inspired by the Holy Spirit to create a chaplet, dedicated to praying for the renewal of the Franciscan Order. The title of this new prayer is “The Franciscan Family Chaplet“.
This website is a ministry of Nicholas and his fellow Third Order Franciscans in Texas. It is designed to provide Franciscans with this new prayer. A special thank you must be given to the Catholic Daughters of The Americas in Houston, who helped the St. Thomas More Fraternity with the first distribution of this prayer to every Secular Franciscan fraternity in the United States, by mass-producing chaplets.
Today, Nick’s fellow Franciscan, Lorene Payne, from the St. Pio Fraternity, in Huntsville, Texas is co-running this ministry with Nick.
May Jesus Christ, through the intercession of St. Francis of Assisi, continue to guide and bless everybody who uses this website.
